ABOUT

The Iota Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, also known as the Looney Bin, was chartered as the 230th chapter on March 14, 1991 by 21 outstanding  and ambitious band members. These collegiate men, who like their founding fathers before them, wanted to promote and serve their University Band Program at the highest level. The Iota Xi chapter was colonized under Dr. Emery L Fears. The band is now under the  leadership of Mr. William Beathea, the current Director of Bands. The chapter currently has a total of 192 members. The Iota Xi chapter is the little brother of the Eta Omicron chapter at James Madison University. ​

Since its charter, the Iota Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity Inc. has welcomed strong-willed and intelligent members into our Fraternity. Maintaining the vision set forth by our 21 founding fathers, our hope and mission is to keep their legacy alive for generations to come.

We encourage musicianship, brotherhood, leadership, and service. We remain committed to bettering the intellectual growth, transformative leadership, and enthusiastic enjoyment of each band member. Each brother maintains our success by offering alumni networking opportunities and a variety of events throughout the year, which encourage bonding between members and help create a foundation of lasting friendships.
